Invite Andrew

Dr. Andrew Wake is available to presents the ideas he writes about in “The Good Enough Parent” (published 2012) and in a book currently in development aimed at teachers.  These talks help attendees to understand the strong emotions and tricky behaviours in young people (and in themselves), and then to know how to effectively respond to them.   From one hour discussions with small groups of parents, half and full day seminars at private and public schools, to keynote speaking and full day workshops at international conferences for mental health professionals, Dr Wake has worked with a broad range of parent groups, teachers and professionals who interact with children and youth.

Presentations are playful and easy to understand, and mix a few key theoretical ideas with his clinical experience to come up with practical take away strategies that work.

Together with his educator colleague Amanda Baker who provides a wealth of in-classroom experience and her own dynamic style, they work with primary schools and secondary schools to assist whole staff groups enhance their skills regarding respectful relationships, and understanding and managing strong emotions and tricky behaviours in the classroom.  These can be half day or full day seminars.
